Pretty Dimples - Always Styling.
Her name is PrettyDimples and she is originally from Orlando FL. I met her through her Fotki pages and now everyone can see her live and direct through her Youtube Channel for great tutorials and advice. I asked her a few questions of my own.KiK: When did you go natural and why?
PrettyDimples: My last relaxer was July 16 2005, and I BC’ed in November 2005. My hair was very damaged from relaxers and color and it had no life to it anymore.
KiK: What have you loved most about being natural?
PrettyDimples: I love that I don’t have to run from the rain or sleep cute so I don’t mess up my hair. I love the fact that I can scratch my scalp any time I want without wondering about my scalp burning from the relaxer. Man I use to hate that. lol

KiK. What have you liked least?
PrettyDimples: There is actually nothing I don’t like about it. I love being natural. The one and only time I am actually happy about the way I look
KiK. What's your best advice for people transitioning to natural?
PrettyDimples: The advice I would give is to do the BC (Big Chop) early when you have about 2 inches of hair. Its fun to see your hair go through stages and play with it as it grows. Don’t be afraid of what people will think or say. Do you and enjoy the journey. It’s a beautiful thing. Don’t get caught up with how society views as beauty. Define your own beauty. Don’t give up and don’t get discouraged.
KiK. What is your favorite natural hair care website or forum?PrettyDimples: I love Fotki and Youtube. You meet all different types of people with different textures and ideas that you can feed off of.
KiK. What are your top three products and why?
PrettyDimples: Eco style gel is my number 1. It slicks down my hair without flaking. Mixed chicks leave in conditioner it leaves my hair soft and Miss Jessie’s hair line of products. They just work so darn well.
KiK. What is your favorite natural style?
PrettyDimples: I have too many to name just one. I just love to style my natural hair.

Recipe for a Hot Teeny Weeny Afro
What if I don't look good with a teeny weeny afro? What if I don't look feminine enough. I know the fear. I dealt with it myself before I did my first Big Chop. I had no idea how easy it was to rock a Hot little fro. Here was my recipe for a hot look.
A dash of confidence (You must know that you are beautiful just as you are)
One pair of large fashionable earrings (An obvious feminine accent)
A nice shade of lipstick
*Tip
A dash of confidence is a great raw ingredient on its own. The other ingredients are garnishes that don't really change the taste you leave in others' mouths but they may enhance the first ingredient.

Lock & Twist Gel Review.
** 2/5 StarsI hadn't used the Organic Root Stimulator Lock & Twist GEL in a while and decided to try it out again. It's OK. Did I get an incredibly wonderful hold from it? Certainly not. Did it leave my hair soft? Relatively. The gel promises no flakes and so far, there are none. I used it on dry hair but it is probably best used on wet hair. If you are looking for a light hold or you aren't concerned with hold, this is your product. You will still need another product for daily moisturizing. The top three ingredients are Water, Coconut Milk and Soybean Oil so I don't think it's too bad but you have to decide if the rest of ingredients are to your taste. I know many of you prefer all-natural products (as do I) so do a little more research online. It's not too bad but I'd rather use my Cantu Leave-in Shea Butter.
Good luck on your search for the products that work for you and continue to...

Thread It - Just Try It
I am a threading ADDICT. It's better than tweezing and 1/4 the irritation of waxing. It's an ancient method of hair removal that originated in India but is catching on internationally. You can use it to groom your brows or remove any facial hair you don't like. I'm a big Threading advocate. If you're interested, check out the videos below. I watched both before attempting to thread and I doubt I'll ever use a tweezer on my face again!
PLEASE READ FIRST - FUNNY VIDEO
So this is a Jamaican video that is basically a mockery of ignorant old-time/backward thoughts surrounding black skin and hair. We've really come a long way! It's so sad that a few people still think like this but it's also HILARIOUS to watch. I'm so glad that this kind of thinking is no longer mainstream. I know some people may not understand all of the language but most of it is comprehendable. OK - fine. You may NOT understand it. Consider it a little short trip to Jamaica.
Ponytail Stretching Kinky Hair Tutorial
So, my 100Day Hair Challenge law includes me not putting heat on my hair and since I've become very dependent on it for stretching, I'm starting to plan how I'll survive without heat. I'm going to try for one last time to use the method (in the video below) to stretch my hair. I also have another method I plan to try... Bhantu knots. That's what my mother used to do with my very thick hair back in the day so I'll be doing my own videos on those soon. In the meantime, those of you who are trying to reduce the amount of heat used in your hair, feel free to try the method in this video and let me know how it worked for you.
